Lara Feldman, MS, L.Ac.

About Me

Lara Feldman underwent comprehensive training in Traditional Oriental Medicine, including the studies of acupuncture, Chinese herbology, nutrition, and tui na massage at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in both San Diego and New York, from where she was granted a master of science in 2003. She has since helped so many obtain relief from their ailments, while encouraging greater awareness and connection. Working in conjunction with chiropractors, physical therapists, orthopedists, internists and exercise therapists,  Lara has an exceptional amount of experience with musculo-skeletal conditions, but emerged from school with a heavy focus on internal medicine and a passion for the psycho-spiritual, esoteric aspects of Eastern medicine. She has had much success treating people with a myriad of complaints, and, as a musician herself, has worked with many performing artists. Lara's approach is holistic, thoughtful, flexible and resourceful, always taking the time to find the most appropriate treatment strategy.image

In addition to private practice, Lara served as supervising licensed acupuncturist of St. Vincent's Hospital's Integrative Stress Management Program from 2004-2008, overseeing NADA specialists and utilizing auricular acupuncture on perhaps thousands throughout the five boroughs. She has, also, volunteered her services locally and in New Orleans in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Even if it were not required by the licensing board, with her passion for learning and awareness of the seemingly infinite mystery of the human body, Lara would ceaselessly continue in her studies. In November 2012, she began participating in a mentorship program in Alchemical Healing with senior five element acupuncturist and author, Lorie Eve Dechar and Zero Balance/LMT/astrologer, Benjamin Fox. She regularly attends lectures, and has attended many continuing education courses, including acupuncture for pregnancy and labor, facial rejuvenation, orthopedics and NADA (National Acupuncture Detox Association) certification training at Lincoln Hospital Recovery Center in the Bronx. Many years before attending acupuncture school, Lara was a bio-anthropology major at SUNY Albany, and later began studying art before embarking on her current career path. A more visceral awareness of the body comes from practicing various forms of yoga for over 25 years, some of the internal martial arts (qi gong, ba gua, tai chi) and middle eastern belly dance.
